Tuesday’s run will be an away day running from Langsett barn setting off at 7pm. Hope to see you there!!
We are having an away day run! Tuesday 3rd October – The Sportsman pub, Lodge Moor (S10 4LJ). 7pm- there are some great routes round Redmires reservoirs and beyond. We will have the same 3 groups. Spread the word please!
Next Tuesday’s ATR will once again feature an opportunity to test product and chat with reps. SCOTT SPORT and SILVA Global will be providing off-road footwear and headtorches respectively. Well worth checking out. *offers TBC.
Next Tuesday 27th June we are meeting at Strines Inn- 7pm. Please park in the top car park. Great routes planned up on to Derwent Edge. The pub serves food till 9 pm so we will be back in time if anyone wants a meal or drink. Avoid Bradfield area to get out there as the Damfask relays mean the village and surrounding roads will be very busy.
With the clocks going forward comes lighter evenings. From this week it should be light when we start off on our Tuesday evening run from Low Bradfield.
Please continue to bring a suitable headtorch and to make sure it’s charged. We will still be finishing in the dark, and will be for several months yet.
Accelerate Trail Runners is starting a second weekly run. We’ll be meeting in Rivelin every Thursday morning at 7:00am for a pre-work run through the valley. The first run will be on Thursday 2nd March.
If you are planning on coming along then please take a few minutes to book on using RunTogether.
Inov-8 will be along tonight (7th Feb) with a selection of trail shoes for us to cover in mud! A choice of styles will be available along with some informal Q&A with an inov-8 representative during post run refreshments in the Cricket Pavilion.
From Tuesday 10 January 2017, Alasdair will be offering a trail-specific, periodised training program, separate from the led runs we already offer.
The aim is this: get trained up to target a 10k trail race. I’m going to suggest we use the free Longshaw Trust 10 monthly race as a goal. We will see if training sessions on Tuesdays can help improve our performance (whether that’s a finishing time or finishing strong and happy) at this particular race.
Welcome to 2017 :). We’re really happy with how ATR has developed so far, with a good group enjoying some stunning winter evenings (and toughing out some character building weather!). So far, the ATR runs have been run free of charge, but as 2017 unfolds, we’re likely to need some funds to cover costs such as:
- Run leader / run coach training
- Group equipment (spare head torches, first aid, etc)
- Use of facilities at venues
The run leader & run coach training is significant. Each place on a run leader course costs £140.00, whilst the cost of the coaching corse is more again.
We’re approaching the festive period at a speedy rate of 60 minutes per hour :). We’ll be out with our head torches (oh so bright!) on Tuesday the 20th of December followed by a low key Christmas thing in the pavilion afterwards with a festive buffet from Mikk Murray. Mikk is asking for a pay-as-you-feel contribution so bring some money for the buffet and the bar.
There will be no ATR Tuesday run on the 27th of December.
The full ATR Tuesday Christmas schedule looks like this:
- Tuesday 20th Dec 2016 – Christmas Trail running from Low Bradfield
- Tuesday 27th Dec 2016 – No run
- Tuesday 3rd Jan 2016 – Trail running from Low Bradfield
